Great memories of Grants Park, growing up and as a teenager. I could crack the beam on the jerker, when the parkie wasn't around that is.
I thought it had better equipment? than many bigger parks. As a teenager we used to hang about in the shelter, first ciggie there unfortunately.
That house at the bottom was scary. I used to think it had gargoyley things around it, but I think you corrected me didn't you Ron?
North park was good as well, two pools, well used in the summer. Lithy park for tennis.
It's such a shame that councils don't get the funding to maintain them like back in the day. The flower beds in all parks were just beautiful and bowling greens were like gorgeous green carpet.
The key parks in Waterloo are a travesty now, it's so sad to see them in the state they're in.
