It's listed in Kelly's as 'Children's Pleasure Ground' Langton Road is on the left.
I spent a lot of time at the park, my great-aunt's partner was the Parkie and her back door in Langton Road backed onto the park, which was great for nipping in for a drink and a butty.
The land it was on was never built on and was used for grazing cows.
In between the Collie and the park was a wasteland, where once a house had stood, tops of the brick foundations could still be seen.
My brother Geoff was hit in the face from one of the rides, his face was in a mess, and I took him to my aunt's house. After first-aid on his face, she gave a few coppers for the sweetshop in Langton Road.
The big house at the bottom was still there in the 1950s.
