    According to my research, the LC Smith .410 double gun was only bored for 2 1/2" shells (or shells with a maximum length of 2 1/2" anyway) when that model was first introduced (1925 as I recall?); so I'm assuming this special request was for the chambers of this little Smith .410 gun to be 3". I've seen several examples with chambers marked 2 1/2", but none with shorter chamber lengths. And since I'm sure you already know this stuff, am assuming you're just pulling our collective chains.
