The Joint On The Top Rib Is Normal Archived Message

The joint on the top rib of all L C Smith SXS shotguns is normal......Some of these joints on the higher grade guns are filled with silver and some are filled with gold and some are just filled with solder......Most all of the lower grade or field grade LCS SXSs have the joint just filled with solder the same solder that holds the top rib on the barrels......Sometimes that joint of silver or gold or solder falls out or pops out and gets lost......If the top rib is not loose then there is no functional problem......The picture trail photo pages that Doctor Drew manages have some pictures of these silver and gold joints if I am not mistaken.......Good Shooting To You, Jent
