does any of you collectors, students of these fine guns know any info on the polish marks or the circular jeweling on the breech ends of the barrels on elsies. They seem to be present on high condition guns from the 20s and 30s up until the marlin buyout. Was this done on all guns or just at the jobbers discretion? I have seen it on fields on up through monograms. I have also noticed it on parkers. Foxes have a clockwise file marking on the breech. Thanks for your input.
