I have a 12 ga with jeweled lock plates. It has a beavertail type forearm and checkering. No markings on barrels and L C Smith stamped on the right lock. My question is was the jeweling from the factory? I always assumed someone "prettyed" up the gun as the remaining metal is bright and the barrels are very dark blue. Who could I contact to find answers about the finish? I am not a collector just an old accumulator. Thanks, Larry
