Wayne, It appears that this is one of those mysteries that we will never know the answer to but I would bet that the stock has been replaced either by the factory or someone at a point in time. The forend is correct and looks exactly like my pigeon guns. The buttstock is exactly like my monogram guns. I don't think that the factory would have originally sent that gun out having mismatched wood but that doesn't mean that it could not have gone back to the factory with a request for higher grade wood to be installed and that particular stock pulled out and put on your gun. As far as the serial numbers matching, there are a lot of stamps around that would match up with the ones that are applied to your gun.
