Dan, Will is correct, the push button release (Curtis) stopped being used as late as 1920. After this all non ejector guns except the Field Grade had the roller type release. As to the recoil pad, measure from the center on the front trigger to the end of the wood. It should be around 13 3/4"-14" and with the butt plate would be approximately 14 1/4".
