The safety snaps into and out of the safety position firmly. When I push it off it is firm, but when I fire one of the barrels it returns to the safe position. I originally thought it was set up this way to prevent doubles from firing. The gun looks like it has never been used. It is in new condition. This is why this safety issue is unusual to me.
