I own a (12) double barrel LC Smith, after every shot the firearm goes back to the safe position. It does not matter which barrel is fired, the safety always returns to the safe position. I can click off the safety and the second barrel will then fire. Is this normal, or is the firearm defective. The gun was manufactured in (1946). The rest of the gun is in very good condition.
