Also Dan, has she any patent dates-for example, my 12 g Syracuse is also an elusive piece because of no records but the first patent date is Mar 20 1883 (no.274435)for BREECH LOADING GUN, the second patent date is July 13,1886 for LOCK MECHANISM FOR CONCEALED-HAMMER GUNS,and the third patent date Oct 5 1886 for SAFETY-CATCH FOR GUN-LOCKS shows my gun was produced in 1886 when only 266 were produced. She is a Quality 3 with fine Damascus (middle grade)-stub twist being the lowest grade-you can contact Cody Firearms Museum at the Buffalo Bill Historical Center to acquire letters of authenticity-good luck
