Dan, your F grade hammer gun would be from 1899. I believe that after 1918 there were no more 10 gauge hammer guns made. Your hammer gun should have a 3 pin lock (bottom pin is actually an axle for the sear), "C" style hammer Type III and the barrels should state Stub Twist. These guns are still being shot by members and readers of our organization once they have been determined safe by someone who knows L.C. Smith's and not your average gun smith.
