The "Arkansas Traveler" was one of the "Top Guns" with his Smith! Unfortunately, I haven't found any images to share.

John J. Sumpter, Jr., of Hot Springs, Ark., made a line record in a tournament at Little Rock on April 7. He shot at 150 targets, and broke 144, an average of 90 per cent. He made a run of 99 out of his first 100, and scored 84 straight. This is the best record of any shooter in that State.
He was using an L.C. Smith gun, three drams DuPont powder, 1 1/4 oz. No. 7 1/2 in Smokeless shells, a U. M. C. factory load.

The "Traveler" Wins a Live Bird Match For Big Stakes.
The Highland Park race track was the scene of quite an interesting pigeon match last Tuesday morning, Aug. 12, between John J. Sumpter, the "Arkansas Traveler" of Hot Springs, Ark., and Fred G. Wheeler, of Buffalo, N. Y. The conditions were 50 pigeons each, Interstate Association rules, for $300 a side, and the Arkansas man won on a score of 45 to Wheeler's 43.
Sumpter used a high grade L.C. Smith gun, DuPont powder with Peters shells.
