    I thought if gun #713 was still around, the current owner would like to know some of its history.

    John Sumpter, Jr.. of Hot Springs. Ark., has
    13 letters in his name. He was married on the
    13th day of Aug., 1896. Had berth No. 13 com
    ing to the shoot, drew No. 13 in the big race.
    On April 13th had 13 birds to shoot at, got up
    at 6.13, bad breakfast at 7.13. reached the
    grounds at 8.13 and went to the score at 10.13
    with exactly 13 shells in his pocket. He used
    an L. C. Smith gun. No. 713, and yet be did not
    win.
