Tom, your shotgun is from Syracuse, and going by your description is a hammer gun and is a Quality E which was the next lowest grade made with Quality F being the lowest. The lock would be a 5 pin 2 screw with the bar action lock, meaning the mainspring is before the action or tumbler. The barrels should be Good Damascus. I'm guessing the serial number is in the 25000-26000 serial number block as you said it has no makers name on the barrels. These are transition guns between Syracuse and Fulton when L.C. Smith sold the gun works in 1889 to John Hunter. It should? also have fine checkering, squared corners on the barrel lug, high hammers Type I some engraving on the locks and trigger guard, vase shaped ebony tip and a butt plate with a setter on point with it's right foot on a rock. If your s/n is in the higher 26000 range some of the listed things might be different, such as the barrel lug might have rounded corners, no ebony tip, coarser checkering etc.
Please post the serial number so that we can add it to our data base for these fine guns, thanks.
