    Grade 1E 16ga with .655-.660 bores Archived Message

    Bores on this gun are in really good shape. No pitting. Bore diameter when I first measured was .660. Then I grabbed a micrometer to calibrate the caliper. After a slight adjustment, my measurement is at .655 in both barrels. Caliper is supposed to have a margin of error of .001 Chokes are .030L and .020R.

    Nominal bore diameter for this period is supposed to be .650, right? How much variance is commonly seen and "acceptable"?
