Meaning of "S.F." in the Hunter Arms Co. ledgers?Archived Message

Over the years, I have determined what most of the letters and other markings mean in the Hunter Arms Company ledgers. However, one continuing mystery is that "S.F." is occasionally recorded in one column that is usually left blank.
At first, I thought that it may relate to style of stock. On a few occasions, when I found S.F. entered by a shotgun I was researching for a letter, I called the owner and asked about the stock and other features. There didn't seem to be any pattern.
Does anyone have any idea about what S.F. could mean?
