Email me your phone number and I'll give you a ring so we can meet up if time permits, always glad to take a look at a big duck gun and visit a little as well.

I'll probably shoot my 32 inch Parker DHE up on Saginaw, the invite is from a Parker friend so it will be expected. *wink*

I like my waterfowl guns a little shorter, so they handle better with heavy clothes on during late season. My main duck and goose guns are both set up with a Silver pad and a solid buttplate which I can interchange depending upon layers of clothing. The Silvers stays on for early season work then is taken off and replaced buy the buttplate for colder weather when I've got my big wool coat and sweater on. Gives you about an inch less on the LOP so the guns fit about the same with the added clothing.

No problems taking guns into Canada so far and I've been doing it steady for about 7 years now. Just have your forms in order and say "Yes sir" to the nice officers and you won't have much trouble. There's a test you can take to get something they call a PAL card that's essentially a visitors gun permit that's good for five years. I've got to get around to taking that one of these days. I didn't mind it when the standard permits were good for a year and it was $60. But a couple years ago they dropped the price back to $25 but they're only good for 60 days now. I end up having to get one three times during the season to cover all the shooting I do over there and it gets kind of old.

P.S. I recommend #5 shot for anything short of elephant. Just something about those #5's that seems to do the job. It's probably just a confidence thing, everybody has their pet shot size and #5 is mine. It's death on ducks and I've killed quite a few geese with it as well, though I tend to go a little larger when I'm hunting them specifically.
