    Syracuse Hammer Gun Archived Message

I saw a really nice Syracuse hammer gun yesterday, 14,000 range. It appeared unused, quite a bit of tarnish and a sliver out of the forearm and dirty bores that may have a pit or two. However, the gun appears never to have been shot, even hammer noses almost unmarked. The buttplate was astounding. How scarce are Syracuse hammer guns in good mechanical condition? This gun was marked Stub Twist as I remember. I guess I should have bitten the bullet, huh?
