Just an "outside" thought here Mike- do you read GUN DIGEST- if so, under Mausers or German Military items there is a gentleman name of Mel Smith- apparently an avid collector-you might try contacting him for more info-I have a old pair of Zeiss 8x30 Deltrienten (?) binocs my Grand Dad bought in a New York Pawn shop in the 1940's- still sharp and good, but no eye cups as today-original case and neck strap too-heavy-have no idea what they are worth-
