Bill, Try taking the forend off and push the ejector arms back until they cock (I push them against a wooden bench), put the forend on and with snap caps fire either barrel and see if it ejects. I have an 1899 2E that has this problem. If I manually cock the ejectors and assembly gun and fire either or both barrels if will eject them, but opening gun they will not re-set the ejectors. When you take the forend off, look at the screw in the slot right behind the ejector arms. If it is in the rear portion of the slot they are not cocked. Push it against a bench or piece of wood and it will make a loud click and the screw will move to the front portion of the slot and now they will eject. In my case breaking gun will not reset them. I will figure it out.
