    Gary,
    In reference to what I had written earlier using the bore gages, I did find out that in using a Skeet's gage or Brownell's, in order to really know the bore size you have to use the "set ring" and it is then set for .700 for 12 ga.
    Between this reading and the bore gages I made, there is a difference of .002 (no big deal).
    My point was that in most places when you are buying a gun and have them check the chokes they put the gage in and set the dial to zero, with draw it and read whats on the dial. Not a good way in my opinion as it really didn't tell you what bore was with out them using the set ring. Also it only allows you to read about 12" in on the muzzle and less on the breech.
