I checked the barrel markings again- large 3 and in small letters above the 3- and offset- a 4- both barrels. Is the barrel weight with the rib extension and lug and extractor? I suspended the barrels with a bungee strap, using the opening in the rib extension for the hook, and rang them with a wooded hammer handle- sounds like a chime in any spot on either tube from forward of the breech to the muzzles- both are Full choke- have NO plans to alter this fine older Smith in any way- No cracks in the buttstock anywhere around either lock- someone took goopd care of this gun- I believe that only light loads should be used- 1 and 1/8th oz. AA perhaps- is this gun OK to shoot the Hevi-Shot non-toxic sheels for older doubles, such as Cabela's advertises?? Thanks!!
