    Finally, here are some photos of my gun. It has the 3" Chambers stamp, but does not have the Proof marks that were started in 1922, the year this gun was made.
    It also has some typical L.C. Smith Stock issues, note the cracks that became evident when I removed the sideplates. The crack on the right side appears to have been caused by faulty inletting when it was built. Who would you recommend to soak the oil out, glue the cracks and glass bed the stock. I wasn't planning on refinishing the wood, but I guess it will have to be done after it is repaired?
    Also, the ejector guide rod is broken off on the left ejector. I will have to replace it.
    One other question. The right sideplate has some rust marks. Is there a way to remove them without removing the case color? If not I will just leave it alone.
