Wendell: Quality control after Marlin acquired Hunter Arms slipped a bit, and this is likely a barrel finishing issue. I would however suggest your barrels be examined by a doublegun specialist smith, checking wall thickness and for evidence of a previous dent or bulge repair at that spot.
