    Gerald,
As Jason had explained, the Longrange did come in 2 3/4" and 3" chambers. The barrels were either 30" or 32" and most if not ordered different were full/full chokes.
The "true" Longrange Wildfowl had 3" chambers marked in an oval on the barrels water table and the re-inforced splinter. The two that I have do not have the "L" stamped on the watertable.
The frames were supposed to be larger, I measured them against a Regular frame and saw no difference. The chokes were also supposed to be different and I haven't been able to confirm this as of yet.
As far as restoring it, that you can only answer. They are getting harder to find, and to find a Regular frame stock could be hard to find. Having a new one made and checkered could cost upwards of $750. and a few hundred for the forend.
Also for putting Briley tubes in it, I would pattern it at different yardages and with different loads to see what patterned the best. These guns were supposed to give outstanding results at "longranges".
