Jason, as per our emails, I used a telescoping gage and a Skeets Bore Gage, and this is what I found. left barrel: .689 right barrel: .707 Since we discussed whether this right barrel was honed I only took the dimensions from the left barrel. 0-1 3/4" straight, no taper. 1 3/4"-4" taper to .008 4" to 11" straight. Breech end: Telescoping gage starts out at .809 tapers to .796 at 3". 3"-3 1/2" tapers .056 (forcing cone) to bore.(Skeet's Gage) Muzzle end; Skeets Gage, ring set at .700 to bore .689 ON GAGE, add .011=.700 for bore size. Breech end bore .701.
So in my understanding, these guns were over-bored to begin with to give them that pattern at "long range".
I didn't do this to the other Long Range I have or to a FW to compare. I will do it to them soon and let you know. Also took the same reading at least a half dozen times.
