    Your gun shipped from Hunter Arms in 1905; and Grade 4 guns are not seen very often. Your barrels are "fluid" steel and should have the Hunter Arms "Nitro Steel" trademark on the bottom of each tube (Nitro Steel barrels were commonly used on Grade 4 and Grade 5 guns). My vote would be, assuming the barrels are no longer safe/can't be repaired, that you do consider salvaging the barrels by some method; and there are several ways that can be done. But before you consider alternatives, get a thorough inspection and opinion from a good barrel man first. You may want to contact Buck Hamlin of Pevely, MO in that regard (636/479-4304). If you do tell him Tom Archer suggested you call. As to John Allen, I believe John has equipment to measure barrel wall thickness; but did not have an in-house gunsmtih at my last visit to his shop (4-5 years ago). Again, good luck
