Jack, I personaly would not open the chokes. Try patterning several different loads and compare the results. I am a big fan of the 21/2 RST shells. They pattern well for me. If changing loads does not help try some spreader loads. If none of this works consider it an opportunity to buy a second gun that fits your needs. Peter
