If your gun has an "0" stamped on the receivers water table it is from about 1895 and it did come with Twist barrels until 1899 and was changed to Damascus. Before 1895 and up till then, the grades were 2-7. The serial number you have might be in the missing ledgers. In 1913 all numeric numbered guns were changed to noun grades, but as some guns took longer to make a few are serial numbered for pre-13 dates in numeric grades shipped out post 1913.
