How does one properly refer to an 1891 L C Smith hammerless 12 gauge (serial 34xxx)with twist/laminate barrels, and no engraving?
If made later, it might be called an "0 grade", or "00 grade", or later on, a "field grade." It has no grade markings on the water table or barrels. Has the dog's head insert in the forend (snap-on style). No markings on the barrel exterior.
