About a year ago I posted that I had sent my 20 ga Specialty to Bob Williams at Wind River to have a set of 28 ga barrels fitted to my receiver. At that time I stated that whether good or bad I would post my results. Now after one year, one month, and 14 days I have been informed by Mr. Williams that I will not be receiving my 28 ga barrels. During this year + period Mr. Williams has promised me that my barrels are "coming along fine" "just about finished", "at the engravers" "ready to be blued" and finally " your barrels were ruined by the engraver when he put too much pressure on them in his engraving vise" I sent Mr. Williams an ejector fore end iron to be fitted to these 28 ga barrels and have requested that the iron be returned to me and have yet to hear or see anything of it. He has not responded to my phone calls or my e-mails. I did receive my 20 ga Specialty grade via UPS and when I opened the trunk case the gun was packaged exactly the way I shipped it, indicating to me that it had never been removed from the case to have any work done as far as barrel fitting is concerned. Would I recommend Wind River? NO. I will leave that up to your discretion.
