LC Smith, Fox or Parker...How do they compare ?Archived Message

Gentlemen,
This is not a "stir-up-the $h** question. Please let me qualify.
My 82 year old father has hunted with a 1911 12ga field grade Elsie since 1946. I have hunted and shot with this same gun since the 60's. The gun is a legendary hierloom in our family. The wood is severely cracked from oil and years of baby magnums.
A few years ago I started to research and learn as much as I could About the venerable LC Smith shotguns. This sight and your help has brought me and my father lightyears. I finally convinced dad that years of gun oil on the stock and years of 2-3/4",4 dram eq. loads were not good for this era of gun. Surprisingly the action and ribs are tight.
For my Question :
From advice gathered on this sight about loads for Smith's of my dads vintage, Do Foxes and Parkers being boxlocks, suffer the same wood cracking problems and rib loosening that LC Smiths do ? Can they shoot stouter loads than Smiths of the same era ?
