Bill, there is a block of numbers missing in the pre 1918 number list, 90.000 to 100,000. A little detective work would establish your gun as being made in the 1899 to 1900 era. The date you receive from the web site is for a gun made after 1918 when Hunter Arms started the serial process over from #1. The serial sequence before 1918 is a real puzzle as guns were assigned numbers based on type and gauge.
