Good work, this is the kind of posting I really like to read. Taking the guns out and using them for what they were intended.
I was out on the big water over the weekend for ducks and managed a pair of mallards and a drake canvasback with my old 1911 vintage Parker DHE. It's just so much more fun doing it with an old gun than with a Benelli.
Keep it up, you'll get to the point where you won't hunt with anything but a double gun after awhile. I've not shot a head of game with anything but a double in 10 years at least. Well up until this season actually. I took out a Remington Autoloading Shotgun made in 1905 a couple of times and had some fun with that as well. Fun to hunt with a gun over 100 years old even if it isn't a double as it turns out.
