Trouble with Ideal Grade Fore End Archived Message

Posted by Bob Allen on October 31, 2007, 7:26 pm

I have a 16 GA Ideal grade ejector gun with a roller release fore end. I have had a great deal of difficulty reattaching the fore end. I made sure the hammers are cocked but the only way I can get the fore end on is by having the gun partially open. I searched by key word "fore end" and saw a post from last year that indicated the ejector trip springs were not resetting but I did not see a particular solution to the problem; I assume the gun should go to a qualified gunsmith. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I am not mechanically inclined. Man has evolved, some say, because he has thumbs, I have ten.

As an aside I would like to commend the folks who have set up and monitor this site; it is a real service to us new Sweet Elsie owners.
