Looks like we have a date-Sat. March 22 (the day before Easter Sunday.)
This is part of my confirmation e-mail to Tom McMahon, Range Manager, Ben Avery Clay Target Center

I'm proposing an informal shoot for afficionados of classic American and British SxS shotguns, similar to shoots organized by, but not affiliated with, the Vintagers http://www.vintagers.org/
I would anticipate participation by members of the Parker Gun Collectors Association and the LC Smith Collectors Association, but the shoot would be open to anyone with a SxS shotgun. There will be no prizes nor awards, and the primary purpose of the shoot is to provide a venue for those with similar interests to enjoy some fellowship. It is my hope, however, that this might become a yearly event, and possibly in affiliation with the Vintagers.
I'll post confirmation of the date on the Shooting Sportsman, DoubleGunBBS, PGCA, and LCSCA Forums, and before the shoot will ask for those planning to attend to let me know so we'll have some idea as to the number of participants.
Participants would purchase targets as anyone from the general public would, and can choose which discipline they wish to shoot. I would like to reserve 2 skeet fields and 1 wobble trap field, and understand there will be a nominal charge for reserving those 3 fields. I anticipate shooting 'Classic Skeet' (no pre-mounted gun with an up to 3 sec delay) on the skeet fields and 'Two Man Covey Flush' (2 shooters standing behind the trap house alternating shooting 2 targets each for a total of 25 targets.) Anyone would be free to join the general public on the Sporting Clays courses by purchasing targets.
I will provide at least one 'Doubles in the Desert' banner, and will greet participants at the reserved skeet fields. Participants could certainly pull their own skeet targets, but we may need a Ben Avery employee to help at the 'Covey Flush' until someone volunteers to be the puller.
It is my understanding that the CTC has no limitation on shooting black powder nor the use of shotguns with damascus barrels. Please let me know if that is incorrent. I anticipate anyone participating being experienced shooters, and we will, of course, require eye and ear protection, and follow the shot size requirements as posted.

I'll remind everyone as we get closer, and looking foward to putting names (and guns ) with faces.
