    If it's got Krupp barrels what's the big worry? That's early fluid steel. Guys on here are shooting damascus and twist Smiths that have never been proofed all the time. Get the wall thickness and chambers measured, if they come up alright then fire away.

    Sending a gun off to be proofed in the UK is a long drawn out process that isn't much fun. It will end up costing you several hundred dollars because you can't ship the gun directly to the proof house. You have to work it with a go between and they'll jab you for cash. The proofing process itself isn't that expensive, it's the shipping and paying the go between that will kill you.

    I just shipped a 20 pound box to England the other day with no insurance and it cost me $100. Shipping it back would be 100 pounds which is about $220. That's not counting insuring the gun, it being a larger box so probably costing more to ship, paying for the proofing, and paying the go between a well. It ain't worth it for a fluid steel gun, hell it ain't worth it for a damascus gun.
