    German hammer gun Archived Message

    Gentlemen -

I am a LCSCA member in good standing, but have an unrelated question that I hope you can help me with. I have recently purchased a German hammer gun with Krupp fluid steel barrels, and want to shoot it. Yes, it is clearly proofed for black powder, and made around 1900. I would like to explore having it proofed for light nitro loads similar to what I shoot in my Smiths (4,900 PSI, 1050 FPS, 1oz.) Do I need to send it to Germany or England for such service. The chamber length will be checked at the same time. Thank you in advance for any advice and pardon my blasphemy!

    Tom R
