In a neighboring town is a gun store that has been there since the 30's. Three generations of the same family. There has been a back room that for years has been used to store old guns that were taken in over the years. About a year ago, they brought out about 20 sxs guns and have had them stacked in a room that I could get access to. These guns were all taken in as trades prior to 1979. I saw them and was able to go through them at the time and was told "some day I will sell them." I put my name on the Smith and a Baker, I think a A grade, or maybe a Paragon, I am not sure.
This week, I asked if he was ever going to sell me the guns and he said "OK, I know you will give them a good home" so I walked home with them. They were incredibly dirty. You conld not see any grain on the wood and the inside of the barrels were Black. There were literally spider webs inside the barrels. I am planning on posting photos of the Baker later to have someone tell me what I have.
