I purchased a Syracuse Quality 2 10 ga. Hammerless today. It has 32" barrels, sr# 18239. It has The LC Smith Trap Gun buttplate with the dog and falling duck. It weighs in at a quite respectable 10lbs, 15 oz. I recall that some of you are trying to compile a serial # list of the Syracuse guns so I thought I would share. Am I reading Houchins book correctly that LC Smith only made 1000 Hammerless guns , of all grades, in Syracuse, between 1886 and 1888 when they moved to Fulton? When you consider all the grades and 12 and 10 ga, it would seem that all of these Syracuse guns are quite rare. thanks, Gordon
