Yes, because Frank Troeh arguably among the greatest trapshooters of all time was already shooting a "Trap Package" for the 1920 Olympics. At least the L.C. Smith advertising seems to point to that. I believe that the "Special Forend" was a very long Schnabel-beavertail variant. I have not seen this variant on a gun post 1925. Some contributors may have this variant, and believe me it's about 2-3 inches longer than what later became the somewhat universal Schnabel-beavertail. I have this looong forend on two documented Trap Package Guns (1921 and 1923)
