Using Dicks list of things you need,
1) All stampings on the top of the right barrel, or the engraving on the rib;
Right barrel says "L C SMITH Field GRADE"
2) whether ejectors or extractors-- very important;
It has extractors
3) ALL stampings on the watertable- serial number INCLUDING prefix, i.e. R, FW,etc, plus the grade stamp,i.e. Field, I, S, etc.-- very important;
Water table says:
12147Rand in barely readable stamp "FIELD"
4) gauge;
20 ga 2 1/2" chambers
5) hammer or hammerless.
Hammerless
It has a small crack in the stock visible in the photo, and a couple of small ding's on the right barrel.
Lock up is very tight.
