Randy, The stock is best removed from the action to refinish-- this process involves the same problem of re assembly. When you take the trigger plate loose form the bottom, which is easy, you will hear A SICKENING POP! That is the top lever spring pushing everthing out of alignment. To get this back together you are pushing the 100 lb. spring with the equivilant of A TOOTH PICK TOOL, not a fun task. Try google for gunsmiths in your area, best of luck. David R
