ML is correct. My experience is that Smith guns come apart very easily; but, if you don't know the little "tricks" of reassembly, the risk is high that you will damage your gun. The primary problem occurs with trying to reattach the trigger plate, a proceedure made very difficult by the extremely stiff top lever spring and complicated by the fact that the safety bar must properly align at the same time. Gunsmith Nick Matkinson has produced a video showing the proper technique for reassembly, and others have devised their own methods; so do as you wish, but those not familiar with the process have often found themselves having a gun with a damaged stock and burred screws.
