The painting of the setter could have been done by Albert Kraus. It is a shame that the vases done by Lenox more depict a Springer Spaniel than a setter as all male children born in the Hunter Family were gifted a setter. This was confirmed by Jim Hunter whose great-great grandfather was James H. Hunter, one of the six brothers who ran Hunter Arms Co. He lived a nice long life and there are pictures of him and his setter with his Monogram grade "elsie" without a safety.
