s t r e t c h e d and maybe, when Mr.Cassidy leaves, they can run an open carrier from 5-10am.
My guess is the suits will congratulate themselves
for this. Hell, AM drive down from 2 to 1, mid-days, down 2 to 1 anchor. Overnights, auto-pilot several hours. Traffic cut backs, sports anchors furloughed....and this is #1!
Just think, if there was a bit more of an effort. A few more field reporters, more than 10 voices....
At work, we always looked for a "better way." When did mediocrity become the new bar of excellence?
ONE THING for sure: Getting up at the un-Godly hour of 2:30 or 3am.... something I was never good at, and would never be envious of, for sure.
In Canada, certain news stations run 1/2 hour segments: IE:5-5:30, anchor A, 5:30-6 anchor B, 6-6:30am anchor C. Etc.
Listening to a jock on a Top40 for 5 hour is one thing (when there's 4-5 breaks an hour) vs an all-news station where there's, in my mind, ear fatigue.
