looking for ways to pay tribute to father that served in WWII

Dad was a merchant marine in WWII and has passed. We want to have a memorial service for him in the next few months. I heard of Bugles Across America, but was wondering if there was any organization that actually represented those men and women that served in the Merchant Marines in WWII that would offer any suggestions as to how best we can pay tribute to our father? Any suggestions will be appreciated thank you so very much for serving and sacrificing for our freedom
