looking for ways to pay tribute to father that served in WWII

Dad was a merchant marine in WWII and has passed. We want to have a memorial service for him in the next few months. I heard of Bugles Across America, but was wondering if there was any organization that actually represented those men and women that served in the Merchant Marines in WWII that would offer any suggestions as to how best we can pay tribute to our father? Any suggestions will be appreciated thank you so very much for serving and sacrificing for our freedom

You may wish to contact the American Merchant Marine Veterans organization for information and suggestions. See http://www.ammv.info/. The organization has a number of local chapters (see http://www.ammv.info/Chapters.html). If any chapter is near you, you may also want to contact that chapter for additional or more localized information. From your e-mail address I see that you may live in the Dallas, Texas, area. If this is the case, you can contact the SS Stephen Hopkins Chapter; see http://ww2merchantmarine.com/index.php.
Good luck.

Re: looking for ways to pay tribute to father that served in WWII
Dear Catherine, Hello my Father was in the WWII and Korean War in his years. Dad has pass on Dec. 1998 the next day of Christmas day. I his oldest daughter has his pages, diaries, the money he visits in the world, letters from friends like Girls and Family, photos of Dad and the Countries this is has been so cool. But, I would like to find my Dad's Sea Mates and the Capt.'s families to share the stories of our Dad's life. I will tell more in time to all families. My name is Linda (Reed) Marshall from Madras, Oregon living with my husband and family pets on a farm. This is my first time writing a little about my Dad life. Take care Catherine, Sincerely, Mrs. Linda Marshall. P.S. God bless all the Veterans and their families, our American Troops here and overseas.
