Thanks to Bob Higgins for striking a spark here after a week of silence. Maybe everyone has been preoccupied with events in Japan and North Africa. To answer the questionj, I was issued both a ditty bag and a hammock at Great Lakes in October 1942 and lugges both from one assignment to another until I was paid off, as we used to say, four years later.
